ENCANA EQUIPMENT GRANT

We are pleased to announce that Skills Canada Alberta, through our partnership with Encana Corporation will provide funding to assist Alberta schools develop their Career and Technology Studies (CTS) programs through equipment grants.

These equipment grants will provide resources to classrooms, removing barriers and providing additional tools for skill development.

2012 Recipients will be announced by April 18, 2012.  The 2013 application will be released in February of 2013.

STANLEY BLACK AND DECKER TOOLS

Skills/Compétences Canada, Skills Canada Alberta and Stanley Black & Decker are pleased to distribute to schools in Alberta a collection of Stanley and DEWALT tools used at the 2012 Skills Canada National Competition.  Recipients will receive a package that would include a variety of DEWALT tools such as cordless power tools, miter saws, scroll saws, and accessories.  

Up to five schools will each receive equipment valued up to approximately $10,000 for use in their junior or senior high Career and Technology Studies (CTS) programs.

The recipients of the Stanley Black and Decker Tools will be announced by May 11, 2012.

 

LOWES GRANT

Skills/Compétences Canada, through the Lowe’s Toolbox for Education, is able to provide one-time funding for high school-based projects throughout the provinces of Alberta and Ontario. The grant money, up to $10,000 per school, is aimed at engaged students and teachers looking to improve their school campus, curriculum delivery or surrounding community.

Applications for the 2012 grants will be released in September of 2012.
