Carpentry

Competitors in both the Secondary and Post-Secondary competitions may be tested on the following skills and knowledge:
•    Demonstrate skills and competency in interpreting prints, shop drawings, and specifications.
•    Demonstrate the safe use of hand and power tools.
•    Demonstrate acceptable site management, housekeeping, and best practices.
•    Proficient knowledge and demonstration of skill in; framing, cutting and drilling materials, fastening techniques, determining elevations, trim & finishing.
•    Quality, accuracy and thoroughness of workmanship.
•    Ability to complete an assignment within a specified time frame.

High School students are registered for the event by their teacher.  Review the registration package and scopes for details. Please note this is a regionalized event. Students must qualify at a RSCC before moving onto the PSCC.

Post-Secondary students are selected by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Review the scope for details
