Mechatronics

Skills and knowledge that competitors are tested on include:

Interpretation and use of electronic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical schematics. Installing and commissioning electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Configuring, testing and modifying a sequential mechanism controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). As well as programming a PLC.

Competitors must also be able to:
•    Ensure operations conform with specification documents.
•    Practice skillful trouble shooting techniques.
•    Execute project tasks with speed.
•    Lookup information efficiently in industrial equipment documentation.
