The Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC) features high school and post-secondary students from across Alberta, competing in trade and technical events.

The competition areas range from autobody repair to welding, graphic design to baking. During the two-day competition, each student specializes in one event area and must complete a project that has been designed by experts in that field. For example, a website developer competitor may be given the challenge of constructing a website for a fictional company.

The PSCC brings trade and tech careers to life and is an ideal fiedltrip for junior and senior high school students.

High School Students begin their journey with Skills Canada at either a Regional Skills Canada Competition or through in-school selection for those events not offered in their region. 

Post-Secondary students are selected by Apprenticeship and Industry Training or their Technical Institute.

Alberta students will earn a spot on Team Alberta at the 2012 Provincial Skills Canada Competition, and represent the province at the 2012 Skills Canada National Competition in Edmonton, Alberta May 14-15, 2012.  The team that will represent Canada at WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 will be selected at the 2012 SCNC.
