Provincial Technical Committees (PTC)

Each of the Provincial Skills Canada Competition events are overseen by volunteers from the private, government and educational sectors that have a specific expertise in their particular fields. In most cases, the Provincial Technical Committees will consist of a chairperson and 3-5 committee members. All committee members are encouraged to seek support of their membership from their employers. PTC members are expected to have the knowledge and training in the trade or technology they are willing to participate in.

The ideal committee will have members from education (secondary and post-secondary) and industry, as well as representatives from the appropriate association, labour union or body that establishes its national training standards. Each committee will have a chairperson who corresponds with the national committee regarding the event. If you would like to join a Provincial Technical Committee, fax the below form to Mike Sury at 780.429.0009.

Experienced PTC members are nominated by Skills Canada Alberta for National Technical Committee Roles, WorldSkills Trainers, and WorldSkills Experts.
