Brian Andrus - 2012 Volunteer of the Year
Creating a culture of safety is a top priority for Skills Canada Alberta. Brian Andrus, Provincial Safety Coordinator, has been instrumental in the development and implementation of SCA’s safety practices since 2005. In addition to his work on technical committees and training students for competitions, Brian has developed a reputation for proactive and inclusive philosophies that have translated into safety practices elevating all areas of the Provincials Skills Canada Competition.
Brian’s leadership role in developing Alberta’s safety policies led him to being involved in the Skills Canada National Competition and WorldSkills Calgary 2009, and continues to represent the industry standards we see in today’s workforce. Brian received the 2012 Volunteer of the Year Award at the 2012 Partnership Luncheon.
