About the Provincial Skills Canada Competition
The Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC) is our flagship event, where skilled high school and post-secondary students from across the province go head-to-head, testing their talents and showcasing their passion in one of 45 contest areas.
From Carpentry to Hairstyling, Video Production to Robotics, there’s something for everyone at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition. All competitions are facilitated by industry and training experts, with the goal of aligning skill development to employers needs.

For some events, high school students earn the opportunity to compete at the PSCC through a Regional or Qualifying competition. For other events, they are selected by their teacher to participate. Post-secondary students apply to compete with a reference from their Technical Institute.
Winners at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition earn a spot on Team Alberta, and have the opportunity to represent the province at the Skills Canada National Competition.
