Skills in the Heartland

Skills Canada Alberta invites you to take part in our unique, exclusive Try-A-Trade® event in the Heartland Community. Presented by several industry partners, this event will provide students with the opportunity to test-drive multiple trade and technology careers with hands-on demonstrations. They will also learn about career opportunities available to them in the Heartland Community.

Try-A-Trade® activities will include areas like Plumbing, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Welding and more!

Skills in the Heartland registration is open! Log into the Skills Portal to sign up now!

ALL teachers wanting to take their class on a field trip MUST register via the Skills Portal. Schools must be a Skills School in order to create a username and password.

Due to the teachers strike, we made the decision to reschedule Skills in the Heartland from its original November date. We hope this change will make it more feasible and enjoyable for students and teachers to attend.

Location: ATCO Gym & Lion Mane, Dow Centennial Centre, Fort Saskatchewan

Time: 9:30 AM – 2:45 PM (schools can register for 1 hour time slots)
