Provincial-Post Secondary
May 7 & 8, 2025
During this flagship competition, each student specializes in one contest area and will work on a project that has been designed by experts in that field. For example, a carpentry competitor may be given the challenge of building a playhouse using specific building plans, while a graphic design competitor may be asked to design a business card incorporating specified elements.
The philosophy of the Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC) is to reward students for excellence, to directly involve industry in evaluating student performance and to keep training relevant to employers’ needs.
Post-secondary competitors can apply to compete at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition with a reference from their technical institute. The 2025 Post-Secondary Provincial Skills Canada Competition will be hosted in-person at the Edmonton EXPO Centre May 7 & 8, 2025.
Gold medalists at the PSCC are further rewarded with an appointment to Team Alberta and an opportunity to showcase their skills at the Skills Canada National Competition, the qualifying event for WorldSkills International.
