Making at Home
Inspired by The Maker Movement, the “Making & Design Thinking at Home – Virtual Guide” provides students an opportunity to creatively attack the world’s greatest problems and meet people’s most urgent needs all from their home by building prototypes using simple tools and materials.
The Making at Home Virtual Guide will support educators with online classes and will give students a creative outlet to build at home. The guide includes:
- 5 steps of the Design Thinking Process in a student friendly video
- Over 30 Design Challenges with a variety of topics and interdisciplinary connections to the Alberta Education’s Program of Studies
- A Design Thinking Activity page to help students record their findings and sketch ideas
- A simple tools and materials list of objects found at home
