Architectural Technology & Design at a Glance
Architectural Technology & Design
Architectural Technologists translate building sketches into a full set of constructible work drawing and construction details, complete with material and component technical specifications.
As an Architectural Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of industries including residential, hospitality, institutional, retail or landscape projects. You will follow a process of using free-hand sketching techniques and computer-aided drawing to develop code-compliant graphic images, technical drawings and 3D renderings. Participating in all phases of the design process, you will research building codes, coordinate working drawings that follow industry standards, and present your design solutions to your team and clients.
Upon completion of a post-secondary program, you will work as a Junior Architectural Technologist for an architectural firm.
