Qualifying Skills Canada Competitions

In 2026 we will be offering online Qualifying Skills Canada Competitions in Photography and Fashion Technology. Top ranking students in each contest area will progress on to the 2026 Provincial Skills Canada Competition.

Qualifying registration opens January 7, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Contest Descriptions will be posted online by January 2026 with all competition specific information and submission instructions.

Regional Skills Canada Competitions

High school students competing in Automobile Technology, Baking, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Hairstyling (Junior and Intermediate), Video Production and Welding must qualify through their Regional Skills Canada Competition. Top performers at RSCCs automatically earn a spot to compete at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC).

In 2026, Regional Skills Canada Competitions (RSCC) will be divided into nine regions across Alberta:

Provincial Skills Canada Competition

The 2026 Provincial Skills Canada Competition (PSCC) will be hosted at the Edmonton EXPO Centre on May 6 & 7, 2026. The PSCC is our flagship event, where skilled high school and post-secondary students from across the province go head to head, testing their talents and showcasing their passion in one of 43 contest areas.

Skills Canada National Competition

The highest scoring competitors at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition will be invited to join Team Alberta for the 2026 Skills Canada National Competition in Toronto, ON, May 28 & 28, 2026.
